Assembly: Intermission, Interruption, Intervention (April 20, 2017, 6:30 – 8:30 pm)
Chace Center Galleries

The RISD Museum Guild invites students of all disciplines to occupy the “Intermission” exhibition at the RISD Museum with both their bodies and their work. On the evening of April 20, 2017, we will feature a selection of student artist-scholars whose work responds to or challenges the exhibition. During this program, Museum visitors will engage with the students and their work to critically examine what is present and what is missing from the exhibition. This will be a space to collaboratively develop a temporary “Anti-Salon.”

During the renovation of the Museum’s European Galleries, select works from the 1100s through the 1800s are on view in this open-storage presentation, offering opportunities for chance encounters and unintentional juxtapositions. Information about each work—including its maker, medium, and date—can be found at www.risdmuseum.org/intermission
