Affordable Art at Gallery Z

November/December 2017:  AFFORDABLE ART

November 2 - December 23, 2017

Gallery Receptions on Thursday, November 16 and Thursday, December 21 from  5-9PM

In November and December, Gallery Z will display affordable art, chosen from among Gallery Z’s extensive cache of over 400 locally, nationally or internationally renowned fine artists. Choose from handmade glass, jewelry and international handicrafts, taken from the director's own collection, and perfect for stocking-stuffers and small gift-giving.  Assorted media will be represented including paintings, drawings, photography, sculpture, assemblages, glass, pottery, lithographs and handmade jewelry.  Two-dimensional works will exhibit a wide variety of subject matter including still lifes, studies, portraits, landscapes/seascapes/cityscapes, abstracts, figuratives and geometrics.

Gallery Z also carries a wide selection of Armenian and international handicrafts and textiles, perfect for host gifts or stocking stuffers.   In the “Italy” room, the local Federal Hill Italian atmosphere is extended with “Dreamy Venice”, handmade Murano glass gifts and jewelry chosen and imported from Venice by Gallery Associate Linda Kamajian, set amidst fine art either related to Italy or by some of Gallery Z's established Italian-American artists.

Visitors will be able to find a distinctive, one-of-a-kind but highly affordable gift for anyone and everyone on their holiday lists.

Gallery Z celebrates its seventeenth year in 2017 of providing a center for experiencing fine art in a historic Providence neighborhood.  Although there are no official Gallery Night events December through March, Gallery Z carries the torch by hosting a free opening reception for the current exhibit every third Thursday of the month, 12 months a year. Gallery Z is a tax-free zone.

Gallery Z Mission Statement

Our mission is to present meaningful and highly collectible forms of artistic expression that engage a diverse clientèle, supporting artists by offering an intimate setting in which to share their creations, and to connect the public with the ever growing vibrant local arts community. Our goal as a staff and a local business on historic Federal Hill is to showcase current, relevant and fresh art that constantly represents an ethnic and positive energy that we treasure. In keeping with owner Berge Zobian's cultural background, the Gallery Z showcases original fine art by Armenian, European, and American artists from the early 20th century to the present, as well as an eclectic selection of art from emerging and established local and regional artists. The contagion of an overall appreciation for good quality art is the ultimate goal. To keep the culture of fine art alive in this evolving society presents an ongoing challenge that we continually strive to overcome. We encourage gallery visitors to form individual opinions on art and we encourage our audience to view art with an imaginative and creative way of thinking.

Gallery Z Hours: Wed. 12-6pm, Thurs-Sat 12-8pm, Sun. 12-6pm and by appointment or by chance.
