“Heart of a Tree” Opens at ArtProv Gallery
Treeness Exhibit will be Open for Gallery Night June 15, 2017
Providence, Rhode Island – ArtProv Gallery, a contemporary gallery located in the Jewelry District’s historic Doran Building at 150 Chestnut Street, announced today that its newest exhibit, “Heart of a Tree,” will open on May 31, 2017, and run through July 8, 2017. An opening reception will be held on Friday, June 2 from 5-9 p.m. The show will also be open late during Gallery Night Providence on Thursday, June 15 from 5-9 p.m. and for a Gallery Talk hosted by the RISD/RI Alumni Club on Thursday, June 22 from 6-8 p.m. Please check www.ArtProvGallery.com for weekly hours and special events.
“Heart of a Tree” is group show of paintings, sculptures, fiber art and wood pieces that celebrate the essence of trees. The featured artists exhibiting are Paula Martiesian, Karen Rand Anderson and Mary Jane Andreozzi, all RISD alum.
Paula Martiesian captures trees in abstracted and figurative forms with vibrant color and spiraling shapes
Karen Rand Anderson uses natural materials such as branches, saplings and grapevine in three-dimensional works
Mary Jane Andreozzi is inspired by the grace, strength and beauty of the natural world in her fiber and wood pieces
Additional pieces will be shown in the gallery by Alyssa Coffin, Philip Gruppuso, Felicia Megginson, Nick Paciorek, Anthony Salemme, and Ken Steinkamp
