New Show Featuring the Works of Former Students of Rhode Island College’s retired professor Enrico “Henry” Pinardi will be Open for Gallery Night March 16, 2017
ArtProv Gallery, a contemporary gallery located in the Jewelry District’s historic Doran Building at 150 Chestnut Street, announced today that its newest exhibit, “Henry’s Kids,” will open on February 8, 2017, and run through March 18, 2017. An opening reception will be held on Friday, February 10 from 5-9 p.m. The show will also be open late during Gallery Night Providence on March 16 from 5-9 p.m. Please check www.ArtProvGallery.com for weekly hours and special events.
“Henry’s Kids” is group show of current work by former students of Enrico “Henry” Pinardi, who taught at Rhode Island College from 1967–1995 and had a significant impact on the work and lives of the more than 30 artists participating in the exhibit. The pieces on display – by artists from around the country and Berlin, Germany – will include paintings, sculptures, drawings and more.
“As a student of Henry’s, I can personally attest to the importance of Henry and his teaching on both my art and my life, and I’m not alone,” said Michele Aucoin, ArtProv Gallery co-owner. “The response to our call for artists for this show demonstrates what an important role Henry played in the creative drive of so many individuals. This show is both a celebration of Henry’s influence and his students’ successes, and I’m honored to host it.”
