Glass Blowing Studio and Gallery
Gather Glass Studio participates in Gallery Night Providence
Providence, RI – Glassblower Benjamin Giguere opened the Gather glass studio and gallery to Gallery Night Providence attendees. There were glass blowing demonstrations and a viewing of Benjamin’s latest work inspired by the autumn season. We showcased glass art for the upcoming holiday season. Pumpkins, gourds, apples, trees, ornaments and all things glass are on display.
Benjamin Giguere began his glass blowing training 20 years ago learning the craft from master glassworkers from around the world. His first job was working for Simon Pierce in Quechee, VT where he blew glass for 13 years. His early influences came from masters from Sweden, the Czech Republic, Ireland and England to name a few. In 2008, Benjamin moved to Providence RI, in pursuit of learning glassmaking techniques. This led him to casting and molding glass into objects for Steven Weinberg, one of the American Studio Glass movement’s most celebrated artists. In 2011 Benjamin helped create Gather Glass in Providence, RI. This new chapter in Benjamin’s career allows him to continue his glass creations while simultaneously providing space for teaching and designing glass art.
